"Fresh Colors and Value"
With over 40 years of experience in painting and many years of knowledge in instructing art classes and workshops, Ebrahim Amin is holding a PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP.
This workshop is held every Saturday with four hour sessions, and is held outdoors where you will paint the landscape en Plein-Air style in different location. Ebrahim will open each session with a brief demonstration and lecture. Afterwards he will assist you in completing your painting and with any questions you may have.
The fee for the workshop is:
10 sessions: $400 (registration required - 40 hours of instruction)
1 session: $50 (drop-in without registration)

Value is a vital component of any successful painting. Learn how to achieve foreground ,middle-ground, and background. Debra will teach you how to look past color and achieve correct value. This class will help you progress as a painter and deepen your understanding of art. The workshop will take place indoors in a very comfortable setting and is a great class for both beginning and intermediate painters. Class size is limited to ensure individual attention and instruction.

Laurie Hendricks – Plein Air Painting Workshop in the Santa Ynez Valley
Join Southern California oil painter Laurie Hendricks in an opportunity to spend 3 days indulging your artistic side and basking in the beautiful oak covered hills of the Sedgwick Reserve and the greater Santa Ynez Valley.
Laurie will share her techniques for successful plein air painting and help take you to the next level. Focus will be on simplifying the landscape, creating strong compositions, "seeing" value and color while creating rhythm and feeling in your work.
All levels of painters are welcome, you may work in your choice of medium, oil or water color. A pre-trip equipment check and supply list will be offered by the instructor.
Fee: $300
(A non-refundable $50 deposit with the balance due 30 days before the first day of the workshop.)

Successful Plein Air Landscapes in Oil
The focus will be on simplicity, composition and value, conveying what you see into a successful painting. Overcome pitfalls, the importance of a focal point, large masses and understanding how to interpret the 3-dimensional landscape onto a flat surface.
The 3 day workshop will begin at 9:00AM and end at 4:00PM each day.

Workshop will be limited to a maximum of 12 students.
(5 student minimum).

Stop futzing! Learn how to mix a bigger pile of paint and get it onto your brush and off onto the canvas without overworking it. People want to see your brushstrokes! We will also be working with a palette knife. This class is often held outdoors to better enjoy Southern California's beautiful spring weather.
