John White's painting "Out of the Shadows" has been selected to be shown in the California Art Club's show entitled, Iconic California. The exhibit will take place at the Altadena Town and Country Club located in Altadena, CA at 2290 Country Club Drive and will be on display until May 15, 2012. Carolyn Hesse-Low was awarded Best of Show for her painting "Zucchini Field" at San Luis Obispo Plein Air Festival 2011. She was also awarded the Medal of Honor in Oils/Acrylics in Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club's 115th Open Annual Juried Exhibition at the National Arts Club in New York City. April Raber’s painting, Birdbath, was selected this year for acquisition into the permanent collection of the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach. Each year the Board of Directors reviews the new work just before the Festival's opening night. Their mission is to purchase several works that are exemplary. Larry Cannon was presented with the Best Watercolor Award for his painting Cypress Dune at the Carmel Art Festival (plein air) by Jean Stern, Director of the Irvine Museum. In March, LPAPA members painted the desert vistas at Borrego Springs Plein Air Invitational 2011. Event is a fundraiser for Borrego Springs Art Institute which serves the Borrego Springs community with its art programs. Ned Mueller, distinguished Seattle artist selected this year's award winners.
